The reception will bring together representatives from UK and Canadian government, industry, academia and the AI security ecosystem, creating space for informal dialogue and relationship‑building alongside the delegation’s wider programme of engagement in Canada.

Strengthening UK–Canada collaboration on AI security

The reception is designed to support bilateral collaboration on AI security by connecting UK SMEs and LASR partners with Canadian stakeholders working across research, innovation, policy and commercialisation. Hosted in a trusted setting, the event will provide an opportunity to exchange perspectives on shared AI security challenges and explore areas of mutual interest across the UK and Canadian ecosystems.

By convening participants from across sectors, LASR aims to foster connections that can underpin future collaboration, complementing the delegation’s structured academic, industry and government engagements taking place across Toronto and Montreal.

Connecting ecosystems through informal engagement

Alongside formal meetings and site visits, the networking reception plays a key role in LASR’s approach to international engagement, recognising the value of informal conversations in building trust, surfacing opportunities and strengthening long‑term partnerships.

The event forms part of LASR’s wider mission to bring together government, academia and industry to advance practical collaboration on AI security, support innovation, and strengthen international links in this rapidly evolving field.
